A big thank you to Societe Perrier for including me in their ’5 Favorite Things’!
Neekoh came by not too long ago from LIVE LOVE LA and we had a blast snapping pics of each other. She came over to my neck of the woods and we swapped stories about work, the online world and (of course) fashion. I couldn’t wait to wear my new L*SPACE coverup pants!! I paired them with my Michael Kors wedges, my ‘LA’ Pennyroyal Studio necklace, a see through tank I tied up over my Le Doux bikini.

1) Designer Poster – While putting together my new office, I was shopping online (shocker) to find some inspirational artwork for my bare walls. I get Fab.com’s daily emails and this simple black & white poster caught my eye. I’m a very literal, black & white personality type so this really struck a chord with me. I immediately bought it and will be framing it as my very first piece of artwork on my new office walls!
2) American Idol – While this season there is A LOT of great talent, I’ve been stuck on Philip Phillips since day 1. I love how he feels the music and is such a natural. He’s got raw talent and is such a star. Hoping he wins!!!
3) Online Shopping – Most of my day is spent online whether it is updating the site, emailing stylists, or getting lost in the world of social media. I always find myself on a few certain shopping sites that are extremely addictive. Fab.com is one of them (as mentioned before). I just signed up to their mailing list and I normally am pretty good about impulse shopping….not with them! I find myself getting something from just about every newsletter they send! In terms of online shopping, I never have to go much further than Nasty Gal. The name throws you off quite a bit, but the STYLING on this site is just ridiculous. They could make an Ed Hardy shirt look good….ok ok I’m exaggerating. The best part is, most everything on the site is under $100! Finally, who doesn’t love a deal? I wake up every morning to an inbox full from Groupon, Living Social, Gilt, Amazon Deals and I can’t even remember the rest. I normally end up buying either Groupon or Living Social because they have more ‘experiences’ rather than just 50% dinner at a random place 2 hours away.
4) Vita Coco – As you may have read last week, I’m kind of obsessed with all things coconut….including coconut water. Vita Coco is my favorite brand on the market, not because Rihanna endorsed them, but because they are delish. They are super hydrating after a workout or after a night of too much alcohol. My favorite is the plain – and you can even mix it with juices to change up the taste a bit.
5) 30 Things Every Women Should Have and Should Know By the Time She’s 30 – I went to the launch event about a week ago and have yet to read the whole book. BUT I added it to the list because I can’t wait to read it (is that weird)?! I turn 30 in a few short months, so I better read it and learn FAST. They have some fantastic contributors as well such as Maya Angelou, Katie Couric and Rachel Zoe.
6) Chocolate Chip Cookies – I’ve got a sweet tooth to begin with, but put homemade cookies in front of me and I’m a goner. My superstar intern, Christina, brought these in last week cooked by her mom (love) after she was telling us the previous week how much her mom liked to bake. Half joking I asked her to bake us something….and the next week she came in with these!
One of my favorite people is the lovely Ida Kay and she happens to run the PR for another favorite thing of mine….G STAR Raw. Ida took me through the new fall 2012 collection and I tried on a few of my favorites. IN LOVE with this classic denim button down G-STAR calls the ‘Hussar Denim Slim Shirt’. Ida suggested buttoning it the whole way up to the collar and I’m kind of digging it – you? I paired it (tucked in) with a pair of their leather ‘Modernist Radar Short’ and my favorite Michael Kors booties. Now all I need is a tan! I’ll have to soak up the sun this weekend…it’s supposed to be in the 90′s!

On Monday night I ventured out with Catt and Amelian to the Glamour Magazine ’30 Every Woman Should Have and Should Know by the Time She’s 30′ book launch hosted by Editor in Chief, Cindi Leive and stylist extraordinaire, Rachel Zoe. I wore my new black high/low skirt I recently purchased at a vintage shopping event and paired it with a loose tee from H&M and some jewelry. Catt wore a dress from H&M Fashion Star and Amelian wore a gorgeous black lacy number. Champagne, chocolate and great crowd!
1) Coconut Oil – My sister turned me on to this a few weeks ago when she told me she now uses Coconut Oil to replace Olive Oil. I’ve been using it to cook salmon, veggies and pretty much everything else. I love it because it’s not only much healthier, but it gives off a hint of the coconut flavor to the meal.
2) FMM Innovation Summit – My friend Macala of FMM put on this fantastic day of networking and seminars. I got to reconnect with Peter Kim & Tony Chu of Hudson Jeans (haven’t seen them in YEARS) and met Raman Kia who is the Digital Marketing Director of Condenast (whew what a job!). I also got to meet the stylish Vyara Ndejuru who is the Marketing Director of Aldo and learn about countless amazing marketing campaigns and fashion projects through the attendees and speakers. Check this Airwalk ‘Invisible Pop-Up’ campaign that blew my mind.
3) Hologram Tupac – I was SO close to going to Coachella but being a responsible adult, I chose to attend the FMM Innovation Summit instead. Although I am happy with my decision, I was pretty bummed to hear about the Tupac performance – I am a huge fan and after seeing the video I couldn’t believe how real it was. If you haven’t heard, during Dr. Dre & Snoop’s performance Sunday night a Hologram Tupac came to life and performed two songs. It cost a cool $400K and took 4 months to produce – but wow. HERE is the video if you haven’t seen it yet.
4) California Coastals – Fab.com if you haven’t heard of it, I would highly suggest signing up to their mailing list. I first discovered this rendition of the California Coastline through Pinterest. I re-pinned it and went to the link. I had the link up for days and finally forgot about it. A week or so later, I got an email from Fab.com with the same piece of art so I took it as a sign and purchased it. I cannot wait to get it framed and up on my walls – I love it! HERE is more on the company that created it, Orange & Park. They do other cities and countries too.
5) Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Almonds – My friend Jhoanna turned me on to these during a late night work session. Wow. I pretty much at the entire box. It’s dark chocolate covered almonds topped with salt and turbinado sugar. Pair these with some wine and it’s a done deal.
One of my newest obsessions is my friend (and Simply Stylist contributor) Jacey’s blog – Damsel in Dior. This week we took an afternoon to catch up at her place, exchange blogging tips, watch our wedding videos and talk fashion (of course). We snapped a few pics on her rooftop! I’m loving colored denim for spring – since I’m pretty short (5’2″) I normally cuff my skinny jeans and wear them with heels. I absolutely love my silk McGinn top, it classes up any outfit.

I had lots of great meetings this week, a housewarming party over the weekend and lots of distractions from work with so many cool apps and websites. Below I’ll share them all with you in this week’s roundup!
1) SOFI – I never thought I could love a dog so much. Sofi is my 7 month old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix) who loves to interrupt just about every important phone call I’m on. She is just the cutest thing in the world don’t you think??!
2) Pinterest – Or should I call it The Black Hole? I find myself losing hours getting lost on this site. LET’S FOLLOW EACH OTHER and waste time together!
3) Nest Candles – I got these as a housewarming gift from my friend, Soyon. I can’t get over how good they smell! I burn one of them all day while I’m working to keep me relaxed. She got me a variety pack with all different types of scents that I’ve never seen in candles before like Bamboo, Moss & Mint, Wasabi Pear and more. Yum!
4) Colored Denim – I’m a big fan of the colored denim! I have a bright blue pair (which you’ll see in tomorrow’s post with Damsel in Dior), a green pair and LUSTING over these ‘Beach Glass’ colored skinnies by Agave Denim.
5) I AM THAT GIRL – Met with one of the founders of this awesome charity this week….and she ROCKS to say the least. I love what they’re doing with this foundation by building girl’s self esteem. Read all about it HERE and watch some videos from their THAT GIRL ROCKS campaign.
6) Kegerator – Our most prized possession in our new home. As you may know by now, I’m a beer drinker. Favorite beer? Pilsner Urquell. So, naturally, as soon as we moved in we bought a kegerator so we’d have Pilsner Urquell flowing constantly. We tested it out this weekend for our housewarming and it was definitely a hit! Kyle & I got engaged in Prague and we did a day trip to the Pilsner Urquell brewery in a small town name Plsen. So awesome to see where it originates from!
This is the first of my weekly outfit posts! I’ll be shooting with a different LA tastemaker every time…there are some good ones coming up so stay tuned I went to visit my dear friend Kristen Aguilera – who owns The Park Women’s Showroom. They sell so many different gorgeous lines to department stores & boutiques. Some of their brands include some of our favorites here at Simply Stylist like Winter Kate, Kova & T, BLANKNYC, 291 and more. Their space downtown is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a shoot! I got to choose from so many amazing options and decided on this Ani Lee bright green dress (love the neckline details), added some Mr. Kate jewelry (love her Youtube Channel), a blazer from Kate Frances (new line full of bright colors and structured fits) and a bag from Donatienne (yes I followed the CMM rule). What do you think? It was hard to give it all back! I loved it all.
